Jibspot photo requirements

Why the limitation As with any web application, Jibspot operates under bandwidth restrictions.
The larger the media on the site is, the more bandwidth we use.
Also, the larger the media is the longer it takes the user to download.
Most users will not hang around waiting for a large video to load.
And you will lose views, votes and money.

Picture dimensions The picture diemsions are not a hard and fast rule on the Jibspot site.
In fact, they can be any size as long as the width or height does not exceed 800 pixels.
In other words, your photos will look best if they match those dimensions as closely as possible.

File size The maximum size we accept is 120kb.
NOTE: this is an absolute maximum.
The smaller the size of your pictures, the faster users can view them.
Try and keep it under 100kb, with 50kb being the best.
But no need to go crazy, don't sacrafice too much quality for file size!

File type Jpeg is the global standard for photograph files.
Bitmap, due to their size, is not even an option.
And gif files are more for logos, and not photos, so jpeg it is.

Photo caption The caption (or title) you give your photo is all important.
It must be concise, witty and get the reader to view your photo.
