Park City, UT
Park City lies about 20 miles east of Salt Lake City, UT. It is a wealthy resort town known for hosting Sundance Film Festival. There are 3 Ski Resorts that border the town on the south side. They are Canyons, Park City, and Deer Valley. Deer Valley allows skiers only. Park City Resort is known most notably for its incredible snowboard park. Rated #1 consistently by Transworld Snowboarding Magazine, it has everything you could expect from a world class part. Perfectly manicured kickers line up one after the other in a succession of consistently spaced action. They range in size from 35 to 75 feet or bigger. If you like rails, Park City always has a plethora of different features set up to keep you challenged. With pros aplenty, and a world class park team, Park City prides itself on being the top destination for freestyle snowboard progression. Don't forget about the #2 halfpipe either.
Canyons is known as the locals destination in Park City. With over 4500 acres of sprawling terrain, there is powder to go around for everyone. There is a diverse range of features with tons of good backcountry available for the motivated hiker. They have really stepped up their snowboard park in the last few years, and this year is supposed to be even better. They are dedicated to putting together a great park team with the insight of pros like Ben Milsaps.
Less than an hour from Park City you can get to Brighton, Snowbird, Solitude, and Powder Mountain. So you will never get bored of terrain to check out. If by some chance you do, then you can go find any type of cliff, chute, or jump spot you can imagine in the Utah Backcountry.
After you have slaughtered the slopes, head into Park City to hit up one 20-30 bars in the historic downtown. There are always good shows coming to park city. On any day of the week, you can expect to hear of a big name band or artist coming through town. There is always a party somewhere and it is definitely the second favorite activity after snowboarding.
